Hopedrums is selling a bunch of B-stock clear cymbals on ebay pretty cheap. I got a 18" dual ride and 14" dual crash and a 14" HH single. I use these with a TD-3 and they are great. The B-stock is because they have tiny scratches, from the manufacturing process, believe me the scratches are barely visible.

I like that better than black, they can be used with the Ion kit?

They are the same triggering device just different plastic.

With Pintech TC means single zone and PC means dual zone.

So I figure the Ion can just handle single zone hence TC.

What the difference for the 10" single zone 36.50 for black and 38.00 for the clear?

I have 3 clear ones and really like them. I also have a black one.

Greetings all. I was thinking of getting an ION kit along with at least one of the single zone pintechs (clear plastic). I presume I'm correct in choosing the 10-inch single zone pads for the ION kit? I've heard such horrible stories about folks having issues with the yellow cymbal, I figured I just replace it right off the bat with something that seems quite superior. Perhaps I'll replace all three cymbals with the clear plastic 10 inchers. Also, I saw (and read) that the stock ION kick pedal is complete shit and is noisy as hell. What pedal would you guys recommend? I'm trying to stick to a budget and so far the ION kit with at least one pintech is my best option....but that kick pedal has to go if it sounds anything like this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__KjkX3Py1Y There is another one that makes it sound like some one is spazing out on a squeaky door.

Those clear Pintech are very cool looking and they would make a killer upgrade to the ION.

I have not touched an ION so I cant really comment much, but glad to have ya posting megaoptimus!

Remember the pintechs have a strike pad, not the whole cymbal is quite rubber. It will all trigger, but you want to hit the strike pad.

If its in your budget I would get a bigger cymbal for the ride 16 to 18, and a 12 or 14 for the crash.

Youre always on the HH and its close at hand so having a smaller strike zone is OK.

Your always reaching for the crash and a lot of the time you just take a swipe at it so, a bigger cymbal with a larger strike zone would be a little more forgiving as far as accuracy is concerned.

For the ride I like to have a big cymbal that sways and give you nice feedback.

I'll include some pics of my set.

Yeah 10" is pretty small.

I run 14" crash cymbals and a 15" ride.

GREAT PICS BONET!!!

Those clear pintechs looks tight on that setup.

Have you considered making them glow with LED? I bet that material will trasfer light well.

Hmmm......

I will say this. The black plastic ones are a little quieter when playing, the clear aren't much louder but you can tell the difference. So if quiet play is very important to you, go for the black.

If I had a video camera I would post a vid.

Maybe I'll post an audio recording.

If you look closely at the crash to the right you can see the long sensor along the edge, below the strike pad. The one on the left is single.

You can also see my daughters "throne" to the right.

Thanks for the pics, very nice set-up. Def looks worth getting the ION with those pintechs. I dunno what to do about the shitty pedal just yet. I was thinking of getting something that is decent from one of the other ION kits....perhaps pintech has something.

If you are talking about the bass pedal You will have to get a real pedal eventually, and you will have to get a drum/trigger.

Rockband hybrid (they have other types):

Actual pedal:

Drums that a real pedal would attach to:

I'm using a 10" Pintech on my Ion as a 3rd cymbal (yellow). It's not the cool clear ones like Bonet's though.

I love it. Much better than feeling like you're hitting a rock (like the Ion stock cymbals). The only negative I've been able to find is rebound is non-existant but that's not really a problem to me.

This is wrong information. There are several models of the Pintech PC cymbals that are single zone.

TC = Trigger Cymbal
PC = Pintech Cymbal

They're just abbreviations that have nothing to do with the functionality of the cymbal. Two different lines of product, that's all.
